Before I used to love being on a plane βοΈ, but now it just causes me anxiety π± Manuverring in small spaces (the always present risk of falling π±), hauling around luggage π±, and inflexible departure times π±, makes flying stressful π± But this weekend Iβm going to a city Iβve never been before for some close friendβs wedding π° π€΅ββοΈ and old friends will be there too! So Iβm excited, yet worried at the same time (my constant state of being π)
From what I remember from my last plane βοΈ ride:
- Airlines will check all assistive equipment (I believe itβll be FREE but donβt quote me π)
- Handling may be rough, so things may break
- See my post: Anxiety with flying βοΈπ± ππ½
- See my post: Anxiety with flying βοΈπ± ππ½
- Try NOT to rush! Give yourself time and peace of mind!
Pandemic precautions:
- COVID test after
- Packing lists (so I donβt forget anything π)
Airport procedure (because I forget π€¦πΌββοΈπ)
- Ticket π purchasing
- Make sure to indicate you require more time to board/need assistance (may reserve seats for you π)
- Check-in tag π·
- Customer service tag π·

- Download audiobooks (or any media you want to access) beforehand
Airlines Iβve flown:
Note: This is from MY experience. Intended to share tips π‘
- Southwest 2021
- (+) Customer service ππ½ The airline reserves my seats π
- (-) π€·π½ββοΈ
- Jetblue 2018
- (+) Reserved seating, fast π¨ through security, no limitations on how much assistive equipment I can check in
- (-) Broke my seatbelt
Packing tips:
- Add a hair towel (hotel towels were thick)
These tips and observations were specific to me! I just hope it helps someone!

Something that always worries me π± Going to the bathroom π½ on a plane βοΈ π±
It will be tight but if it seems like the plane βοΈ is cruising smoothly and whoever is with feels ok ππΌ helping you, you should go yo the bathroom π½!
People in general are kind π and want to help. There may be those with a need for more education and sensitivity when interracting with a person with decreased mobility, but, bear in mind, they might have more to learn (and no one to teach them).
