Before I begin:
Love this series π Excited Iβm almost caught up! Remember reading My Darkling Duke, but nothing specific π€·π½ββοΈ So rereading it and taking notes π this time ππ½ Already read about Kitty πββ¬ and Mary Ann, so now itβs Opheliaβs time π
Chapter 7
The epilogue π and how it influenced Niell ππ½ I get itβ¦ Look π forward to scenes in the Asylum π Look forward to learning more about Devlin, Riordan, and Rhys π€ Getting a grasp on the story: Opheliaβs family is having money π° problems π₯² Devlin (Niall) is rich π€ Heβll pursue Ophelia with her not knowing heβs Niall πππ€ Not a fan of lies but love a hero π¦ΈββοΈ π₯° The catalyst for the story: money π° Itβs true money π΄ makes the world π go around π€ Liked that Niall re-entering Opheliaβs world wasnβt dragged onβ¦ I feel it make for a more enjoyable experience π Devlin has formally introduced himself and Ophelia finds she is enthralled with the thought π of seeing him π Devlin keeps denying he loves Fifi, but everyone knows he does π
Chapter 19
Really feel the friendship between Niall and Fifi π Their intimate scenes are π₯ though πThe class difference plot is really felt π₯² Niall is really reminding me of Dorian from Kerriganβs The Highwayman. Loved the childhood friends in that one and it in here! Ophelia is slowly finding out more about Sally Martin and Devlin π is a part of her learning more βΊοΈ π€¦πΌββοΈ Got carried away π A fitting end to the Sally Martin arc π€ A feel good scene with Devlin π befittingly there βΊοΈ Ophelia is starting to really believe the improbability of her & Devlin π₯²
End of book π
The 3rd act is fairly predictable but where else can a class difference go?! Still β₯οΈ Devlin/Niall & Ophelia/Fifi. Just want them to get the HEA already π
