Tuesday: Chapters 5 – 8
Tuned out after Lady Avery arivesā¦ š¤·š½āāļø Try to catch on as I continue readingā¦
Elle keeps going from Vere and Freddyā¦ At a certain point sheād have to choose š¤
Elle blantly manipulates circumferences so Vere has to marry Elleā¦ Vere finally getting married š In this time period, women are powerlessā¦ But to be manipulativeā¦ Two wrongs donāt make a right!
Wednesday: Chapters 9 – 12
Fell asleep sometime between chapters 10-11ā¦ Iāll have to reread them..
Chapter 10 exciting š I find it hard to stomach themā¦ Because of Elleās manipulationsā¦ I know thereās a reason for it, butā¦ Leaves a bad taste in my mouthā¦
Attention scattered in these chaptersā¦ Plot got more interesting as I went! Still against the manipulation that occurredā¦
But then we see the interaction between Elle and Uncle Edmundā¦ Threatens and strikes fear into Elle…
Feel like we see their relationship progress…Trying to understand Elleās hesitancy with being allne with Vere..
Thursday: Chapters 13 – 17
I donāt know š¤·š½āāļø if itās my attention or the storyā¦ but Iām unfocusedā¦
Would have had preferred them being in love š before having sexā¦ Vere keeps going back and forth from hate and admirationā¦
Dumbnessā¦ Perceived intelligence š¤ Is Vere for real dumb or is he acting? Elle wondersā¦
Arrest of Uncle Edmundā¦ satisfying, yet another manipulationā¦ š¤ Here we see how the story uses manipulation positively and negativelyā¦ But the story is slowly wrapping up!
Freddy and Anjelica story lineā¦ It was nice, light, and amusing š

This book has provided insight in what I DONāT likeā¦ I really canāt stomach entrapmentā¦ It affects my enjoyment of the story and just leaves a bad taste in my mouthā¦
Friday: Chapters 18 – 22
Iām okay with an annulmentā¦
Curious when Aunt Rachel found out about Edmundās bwing an imposter šØ A reveal I didnāt see comingā¦
Not super invested romance-wiseā¦ But definitely intrigued by the plotā¦
Uncle Edmond became crazy Villainousā¦ The storyline was so much more than I anticipatedā¦ Birth reveal blew my mindā¦
Aunt Rachel lucid the whole timeā¦ Playing dumb vs being dumb is annother point of contemplationā¦
Story got a little bonkers but, in doing so, became moreā¦ So much happens in the last 3 chapters …Thank goodness I took notes š Had to rewind a few times š
To feel invested in Freddyās storyline, would have liked him more in the storyā¦
So much has happened to themā¦ Just glad to See them happy ššš½
