Fast enjoyable read 😁 Relatively light but touches on Griff’s POV as a 2nd son 🤔

• Read this yesterday as part of the historical romance readathon 😁 but broke up my notes according to the chapter break downs 😉 Fun we meet Kingsland early 👌🏼 Letters sound like collage personal statements 🤣 Like Kathryn’s boldness ✊🏽 Frenemies 👍🏽 descriptor 🤗 || Didn’t get the Day of the Duchess vibes until 👆🏼||

Chapter 11

Interesting developments 🤔 Kathryn won Kingsland’s letter writing contest (without entering), Griff’s family scandalized 😮 😱 Griff starting to collect on debts 💸 Kingsland-Kathryn spending time together (🙅🏻‍♀️ fireworks 🎆) 🧐 Sure Kathryn will get her cottage by marrying Griff 😍 and Griff will open the fair and spare’s club but how will it happen?!

3rd act conflict 😱 Kathryn captured and Griff kicks a** 👊🏼 Griff injured 🤕 😱 Caretaking 🤞🏼🙏🏾 Got a little 😏 at an oceanside cottage 😁 Hits major insecurities by 🤚🏽 then leaving 😱

• Visits Fair and Spare 😏 11 months later 🤔 I like the action sequences 🙌🏽 Wilheimina is a good character 👍🏽 I say we can count Kathryn being taken from the carriage as a kidnapping* 😁✌🏽 The duke’s finally back 😊 Kathryn is a woman ahead of her time ✊🏽
• Griff wrestling 🤼‍♀️ every member applicant 😂😇 tall about a show of masculinity 🙃😇 Is Althea the Francesca-like character? Fair & Spare is a great club 😊 Marcus and Althea?! Please correct me if I’m mistaken 🙏🏾

Griff leaves and Kathryn 🥲 Dinner party 🎊 Griff tells Kingsland of will 💒 Griff continues to help from the background 😍 End section with Kathryn going to see Griff 😏

End of book 📖

No sex scene until Chapter 20. One night only 🤬 I understand both their POVs, Griff wants Kathryn to get her cottage while Kathryn wants Griff 🤔 ✊🏽 Katheryn’s proposal 🫶🏼 Epilogue atypical 🙌🏽 and a sweet glimpse of their family 🥰

Summary: Kathryn is stipulated the inheritance of a cottage in exchange for marrying a peer 🤔 but Griff is a 2nd son 😱
