Read it for my book club ππ½ Its the April pick! ππ½
The general story line, brought to you by Amezon π is Evan, the Duke of Rothchild, is to mary Violet Crenshaw. Not if August Crenshaw has anything to say about itβ¦ π
This is my 1st Giled Age American HR ππ½
Check-ins/Updates:
Story in my head at Chapter 2 π I must admit Iβm intriguedβ¦ π€ More interesting just thinking about where this might go π
Chapter 6
Evan meets the Crenshaw sisters ππ½ More interested in August π
Enjoy the set-up! See the potential for angst and taboo π Liked we got it early π Now we have the rest of the book π Honestly, just want to keep reading π I want to know what will happen ππ½
Augustβs protectiveness feminds me of Kate from The Viscount Who Loved Meβ¦ If my comparison is correct, I know how this will go! ππ½π
Chapter 17
August goes to Evanβs estate, understanding him moreβ¦ Itβs like heβs talking to herβ¦ Kind of like he sees her as his equalβ¦ π€
Enjoy the direction the story is goingβ¦ Familiar in some ways yet different tooβ¦ π€
Feel giddy π I think instances such as this shows why I enjoy enemies to. lovers romance ππ½ The banter ππ½ππ½ππ½ The determination to dislike them π
Violet walking in on them verifies their attraction πππ½ It was only time until someone sees!
End of Book
The book ended faster than anticipatedβ¦ Felt there was an attempt at a 3rd act conflict but, no one can deny how much Evan loves August β₯οΈ So I laughed it was happening π Instead of being mad π‘ Interesting π€ how the Crenshaw parents fell off the plotβ¦ I felt their presence throughout the storyβ¦ Then they were gone π
Really loved Evanβs character! ππ½ The level of love for August ππ½ August was a likeable empowered heroine π¦ΈββοΈππ½
