Ahared on my Instagram stories! @listenwithprecious π Things look to be in order! Excited for it! ππ This project is not just me! My friend Casey Gin has kindly been helping me as the sound engineer π¨βπ» ππ½
Iβve been hearing about this series for a while, so Iβm excited to finally read it ππ½ On the surface, based off the description (from Amazon), thereβs going to be a marriage of convenience, which I like π€ I guess Iβll know more in time β±
After reading the st chapter, think I remember this story more π€ Itβs so much more than I can read on Amazon.
Chapter 6
Still have a fair amount of questions π€ But I β₯οΈ Farah & Dougan! π Sure, their love was young, but it was beautiful
This book has unexpected darkness π± I know I shouldβve been warned beforehand but π€·π½ββοΈ
Chapter 17
Idk π€·π½ββοΈ if itβs me or my current mind space, but not enjoying this book like I anticipated. Maybe because I heard the hype π€·π½ββοΈ There are parts I enjoy π The whole Dougan arc ππ½π Iβm definitely intrigued π€ Her relationship with Blackwell is a little insta-lovey (which I usually dislike). The book is the typical length of a book, but itβs running a little slow π’ At this point, Iβd normally anticipate a 3rd act conflict, but I still have so many questions π€ Namely, who is Farah Leigh Townsend?
End of book π
Still trying to establish some kind of procedure π Like structure and order π€π So far, coincides with my Instagram stories π
For a potentially dark story, light ending π and, seemingly mundane, epilogue π€ But makes me intrigued by the series π§ππ€
Pandemic is still here and a booster for the vaccine π was synthesised. Side effects after getting it are the same as the vaccine π (see Vaccine π Update
As with the vaccine π, anxious about how my body will react π€ But I know I have to get it ππΎ
Felt slightly late to the show here, but thinking π€ of getting it Friday through my city. But better late than never!
Been hearing most people just encounter arm soreness, but side effects can be the safe as the vaccine π. So Iβll be following a similar care regimen as the vaccine π
Just to reiterate π
1. Drink lots of water π§
2. Keep moving my arm. Arm rotations have helped me A LOT! ππ½
3. Take Vitamin D and C.
Getting the booster Saturday π€πΌ
Getting my booster through my city πππ½ Seemed like an efficient system and setup! The booster is 1/2 the vaccine π dose!
Note: Copying and pasting is proving to be more different ππΎ
Check-ins/Updates:
Before I begin:
Girl from the wrong side of the tracks π€ Iβm intrigued. Turns out Cassandra has conned (and successfully charmed) the Duke of Greyland π She needs his help, years later π For, what looks like a good ππ½ time πππ
Prologue – Chapter 4
How everything is being set up promises to be a fun story ππ½ Not information dumping but informative! From the beginning theyβre brought together again π
Martin gives me evil villain π¦ΉββοΈ vibes. Cassandra wants to be good π but, as commonly happens in life, hardship can lead to poor decisions π€ Canβt blame Cassandra but wish sheβd find another way π€πΌ
In the last book, we noted names of gaming hells π€ Whatβs the name of Martinβs gaming hell?
Quotes ππ½ from my reading that I reacted to! Also, I will try to summarize the last scene in the section!
Finish up with my thoughts π at the end of each section too!
You always want, what you canβt have π
Expectations are added pressure π€
Caught!
True!
Is that really honorable though? π€
No one wants things half finished π
Complement in an insult? Reminds me of Bridgeton π€
Sad realities π₯²
Last scene: Alex decides, while talking to Ellingsworth, heβd marry Cassandra
The groundwork was successfully lain ππ½ Quotes that really resonated with me were related to roles and expectations, which are a major driving force for everyone
Chapter 5 – Chapter 8
True to his word, Alex is there for Cassandra β₯οΈ From paying staff to taking Cassandra in (future cohabitation π) to helping her search for Martin. Underandanly, people are mistrustful and skeptical π€¨ But you can see Cassandra is trying! She has her faults but wouldnβt do anything like this π± Alex is very honorable in this section (but when isnβt he?)
Last scene: Meet Mrs. Rose Donavan

Another way of saying βYou donβt know my life!β. π€

Avoidance.
Capitalism is alive and well!
I feel for Cassandraβs circumstances, BUT I, also, understand Alexβs feelings. With his low image of his lovability (not saying it’s wrong but unfortunate).
Only had quotes if I read them in my ebook! Read the audiobook too π Exercised restraint π Waited until we caught up on the chapters!
Chapter 9 – Chapter 13
Alex and Cassandra are in full pursuit of Martin, learning more about each other, in the process π But their attraction is UNDERSTANDABLE π€ Not going to name specifics, but this section is fun-(NY π).
Last scene: Orchid Club shindig over. In the cold π₯Ά morning, Alex hugs Cassandra to keep her warm π€
Again, refraining from posting as I read (like usual) so I donβt accidentally spoil anything π Been told I do that π
Quotes to come! π
Chapter 14 – Chapter 17
This section really amps up the story! Feels more Cassandra-centric π€ Trying not to give too much away π€·π½ββοΈ But the quotes might fo that π€¦πΌββοΈπ Youβve been warned! β οΈπ
Quotes ππ½
Including them in my book club discord is too hard, but theyβll be here! Only chapters I read on my ebookare included π
This is an expected trajectory for the plot π€
Last scene: Cassandra, Lacey, and Laceyβs 2 lackeys at Walden Gardens
Chapter 18 – Epilogue
Alex saves her π Was that really a question?
Cassandra is a relatively independent (yet dependent) character π€ She believes its her against the world π
Alex came for her ππ½ Liked Ellingsworth and Langdonβs involvement to help make them happen π
End of book π
Not overly deep but satisfying ππ½ No plot holes Iβm aware of. The story was relatively light with likeable characters. Liked the untraditional epilogue ππ½, where it highlights happy endings arenβt just marriage ank kids (it can be, but not the only outcome)

Woke up feeling anxious about this ππ because I felt this was something to get sooner. π€·π½ββοΈ But luckily Iβve just been home π‘ Apparently people get it as soon as August π€
The key π aspect of the flu shot is that a small-deactivated virus is injected into you (what all vaccines are) meant to get your immune response making antibodies that fight off germs (or pathogens)
