Been meaning to dive into IAD (Immortals After Dark) and people say this is a good entry point so 🤷🏽♀️ Getting the 1st 3 books abridged by Fated Mates (a podcast I enjoy) 🤗 From the synopsis always take the hero 🦸♀️ and heroine 🦸♀️ names now 😂
Chapter 6
Starting the book over (when the last scene I remembered hooked 🪝 me), was a great decision! 👏🏽 Again, this section did a good 👍🏽 job of giving us the information we needed for the story: Nèomi murdered and haunting her human home 🏡 Conrad imprisoned in Nèomi’s home by his brothers. But he can see Nèomi 🤷🏽♀️ so then what? Sounds fun (still 😂)
Chapter 17
Chapter 9 was great 😂 So far it’s the highlight of this book for me 😂 This scene is what I remember most prevalent in my initial (partial) read 😏😂 I predict the silver moon will be in play for Conrad and Nèomi 😏 Conrad and Nèomi become more and more attracted to each other 😍
Watching someone you care about sleep 😴😍 Sleep 😴 is when a person is most vulnerable, so being able to is a sign of trust 😍 whether the person admits it or not.
Chapter 28
Nèomi & Conrad’s relationship grows deeper and they admit to themself their feelings 😍 They will make drastic changes for each other (for the sake of love ❤️😍). The gathering went in a way I didn’t expect 🤦🏼♀️ It was exciting and pushed the love story forward 🤔
Characters within the IAD universe at play! Only know them through word of mouth but glad to see it 🤗
Chapter 39
A major component in this section, Nèomi’s embodiment 😮 Certainly spices things up 🌶 and connects storylines (that I still need to explore) I understand Conrad’s questions 🤷🏽♀️ especially since he loves Nèomi. Attaining information can help with anxiety, at least for me. The story is a little long… If anything it gives the dory time to unfold. Still rooting for Conrad ❤️ Nèomi

Resolved nicely 👍🏽 Was wondering how it would be done 🤷🏽♀️ Not a typical ending but makes 👍🏽 predictions for the future, which seemed befitting, to not make the story rediculous. Felt that the story may have been too long 🤔 Can’t exactly pinpoint in what way 🤷🏽♀️ Still enjoyable 👏🏽 🤷🏽♀️ IDK if it’s me but not obsessed by the IAD world 🌎 but interested to learn more!

So this one of the couples previously, so I’m excited! Very mysterious indeed 🤔 Love the friends to Lovers trope, and they didn’t previously give off the friend vibe, but Violet announced in Don’t Hex And Drive’s epilogue they were opening a tattoo shop together 🤔 Maybe through that? Already excited for jealousy, in the story 😂
Just checked Audible, no audiobook yet 🥲 The audiobook for Don’t Hex And Drive was great 😊👍🏽👏🏽, so (when it releases) It’ll be great!
Decided to include prologue commentary here 🤗 The prologue tells us, crypticay, the story is about love (which we already knew 😂) With Violet being such a fire cracker 🧨 wonder 🤷🏽♀️ how she’ll be when she meets her match 😏

Liked the flashbacks to 14 yo Violet, when Biolet med Nico, and Nico moved to New Orleans ❤️ This couple is well known but still pose questions??🤷🏽♀️ so it was nice it was addressed. 👏🏽 Spelled tattoos 🤔 Interesting 💡! Excited to explore further 🤗 The book already looks like a lot of fun 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Reading the synopsis, know there’s an element where Nico gets jealous, I predict that will be Ty 😂
The longing in this section is intense! Both Violet and Nico are attracted to each other. It’s interesting 😂 how they went into business together 😂😂 That really amps up their longing
Violet does readings for Lindsey and Nico 😮 😱 Jusr knew Violet wouldn’t be happy with the results.
The attraction between Nivo and Violet is 🔥 and heating up 👍🏽 Interesting 🤔 with Shane in the mix now. Based on the Amazon synopsis, I know what Shane’s roll in the story will be 😉 and I’m excited for it 😂 Nico thinks Violet’s driving him crazy now, just wait 😂

Hand holding and touching are always early signs 🪧😂
But, in this section, we, also encounter the theme of loneliness. I can see how that’d be the case 🤔 One always fears hurting 🤕 someone they love, but facing those feelings could be saddening 🥲
Another element of the story (Clara’s use of social media) 🤔 As an active user, I understand both the (+) & (-). But no one can deny it extends a person’s reach
Violet has an awakening 😱 Which I don’t like when liked more that stuff just happenis in the story 🤗 Violet feels 🤦🏼♀️ because it was all in her control. Nico’s 😡 😤 anger is understandable. Just when Violet’s ready, where is he? 🤷🏽♀️ That guves her more time to think 🤔 With 3 check-ins left, the story’s progression is a little slow. But I’ll still enjoying it!

Got engrossed in the story and read a little bit more 🤦🏼♀️ empress Ink had its grand opening 👏🏽 But then unexpected events happen, just in time for the 3rd act!

Sometimes you pick and choose your battles 👊🏼 There are multiple things I’m passionate about 🤔 Being disabled and Filipino for one, being American, reading…. The list goes on… Violet recognizes and embraces this part in herself ✊🏽

Behind on the chapters…. After Chapter 3, I’ll go full audiobook for a while 😂 Isobel threw down the gaunlet, showing Winter that she’s changed. The beginning may have been untraditional but it is intriguing 🤔
Isobel is visibly different and Roth sees that 😋 He knows he’s got ground to cover 😂 But he’s still insanely attracted to Isobel 😍 Challenge accepted ✅ 😏

The bet really amped the hijinxs up between Isobel and Winter 😏 Still need to find out more about what happened to Winter’s mother and sister 🤔 Winter will be funny when he learns more of WHO Lady Darcy was 😂 This will be fun 😂😂😂 Isobel continues to suprise and shock Winter 😂 Isobel’s girl friends (Clarissa, Molly, and Violet) are still in the story and I love it 👏🏽
Chapters 11 – Chapter 16
A more common occurrence 🤔 Tie it back to Bridgerton, that show started it all 😂 I think from that show, I saw the darker themes within HR, making it applicable to REAL life
The tension between Winter & Isobel 👍🏽 Love it when they’re on page together 👏🏽
Moment where we see how much Winter cares for Isobel 😍 and I loved seeing it ♥️ We’ve gotten the impression (falsely) but that’s not true.
Up the stakes by endangering Isobel 😱 I believe it elicits the intended response 🤔 The auction 👏🏽 Not the most original plot device but a good one!
Chapters 17 – 22
Excited to post the quotes (been sitting on them since last night). These 👆🏽 were in 17-22 🤗
Talking with Clarissa the day after 🤔 and talk with Astrid 🙌🏽 It suddenly got really exciting (though not completely unexpected). I knew Edmund Cain would re-enter the story at some point 💡
Chapters 23 – Epilogue
In this instance, Winter is a good big brother 👯♀️👯♂️ Siblings can be a complicated relationship 🤔 It’s like an old, good friend.You may disagree and be different, but, at the end of the day, theyy have your back. Whether you’re related by blood or not (found family), they can potentially be your ride-or-die 🤗 I love girlfriends in stories too, but I especially love seeing biological siblings ❤️

Clarissa was a beloved character in The Rakehell Of Roth so I’m glad the epilogue provided more information for her ❤️ May not be a happy ending (yet) but it can be inferred 😁 Loved the inferred. The series characters here, made me want to read the series 🤗 Glad to see on page, Winter and Isobel and their family ❤️❤️❤️
