So this is the last tirle in Tesa Dare’s Girl Meets Duke series! Still ongoing but highly recommend and a good entry point into HR! The first 2 books The Duchess Deal and The Governess Game were relatively light and rom-com-y 👏🏽 I enjoy both of them so far! 👏🏽 The thing with me and books, I remember general premise and how it makes me feel! 😂

The Wallflower Wager is about (according to Amazon) Gabriel and Penelope, who are neighbors 🤔 Penelope takes in animals and Gabriel must help find them homes… Thats the general premise…

Usually don’t start a new book at night… but figured it’s jut5 chapters and the stoyis fun from the get go 👏🏽

Chapter 6

Penny is likeable 🤔 Gabe is endearing 😍 They make a fun pair 👏🏽 Getting a more playful cibe from the storyline 👏🏽 The first 5 chapters followed the formula and laid the groundwork for our story and it’s characters 👏🏽

Chapter 17

Glad to get back into this  read 👏🏽 Chapters read fast 👏🏽

The intensity for their attractions for each other 😂 Loved the bathtub 🛁 scene 😂😂😂 Feels like it reflects their dynamics really well 👏🏽 Both of them are attracted to each other yet they’re still hilarious 😂 

Love Ash, Emma, Chase, and Alex participation and concern for Penny ❤️

Liked how Gabe facilitates Penny’s sexual journey, constantly affirming her 🥰

Really enjoying this book 😂 Really like Ash and Chase’s prescence 😂 Love the begrudging friendship between Gabe, Ash, and Chase 😊

Got dark in Chapter 24… But I feel it helped propel their relationship forward 🤔

I find it hard to believe that no one in Penny’s family knows what happened between her and Mr. Lambert.. 

Duel between Lambert and Gabe 😨 

Both Penny and Gabe both know pain…Story got meatty… Unexpected but appreciated!

The epilogue was genuinely funny 😂

Rereading His At Night by Sherry Thomas, just finished my initial read 5/9/21. Completed the readalong the week of my book club Readalong 👏🏽 Glad I Was able to read it for the 1st time on time!

Monday: Chapters 1 – 4:

The groundwork was laid AND laid well! Caught on to more details the 2nd time around! We see Ellessande and Vere’s initial meeting!

Tuesday: Chapters 5 – 8

I enjoy the beginning of stories! Before the couples couple up! It’s the most fun part! 👏🏽 The beginning is the most challenging though… (most notes taken 😂)

Still not a fan of such blatent manipulation… Vere and Ellessande are attracted to each other…But that doesn’t make it alright…

Chapter summaries not up yet… Didn’t post anything in regards to the chapters yesterday… By the time I finished reading, I was not in the right mind space to read the thread… Trying to be engaged today 😂

Wedding night was hilarious 😂 Ellessande throws herself at Vere, but he seems indifferent 😂  Ellessande caught crying 😭 Vere and Ellessande kiss 😘 

Attraction between Freddy and Anjelica feels a little random…Their interactions are entertaining though…

Marriage revealed to Uncle Edmond 👏🏽 Felt like Elle intentionally rubbed the news in Uncle Edmond’s face 😂

Thursday: Chapters 13 – 17

Vere and Elle relationship getting deeper but Vere still has feelings of hate and resentment towards Elle… That’s why I have mixed feelings about them… If Vere can’t, how am I supposed to?! I like how we see more sex scenes (I feel it helps their relationship grow)

This book also contained the most espionage… Like never noticed it until this book 📖 Before we heard mention a character was a former spy but never one in process or being utilized as one…

Uncle Edmund in prison for murder 😂 Poetic justice? Elle relieved 😌 

Elle seeks Vere’s company.. Her need for human company makes sense, knowing she was imprisoned in her home before 

Walk are good 👏🏽 Speaking from personal experience, walks are a unique opportunity to talk! Feel this is a healthier way than having sex 👏🏽

Friday: Chapters 18 – 22

Section of reveals! Vigorously take notes! Definitely made things exciting 😂

Elle questions her ideantity… Vere reassures her…

Freddie’s reaction felt real from a sibling… Freddie shares HOW he knew

Felt after Vere’s reproposal was all HFN! Thought it was fun! 👏🏽

Tuned out after Lady Avery arives… 🤷🏽‍♀️ Try to catch on as I continue reading…

Elle keeps going from Vere and Freddy… At a certain point she’d have to choose 🤔 

Elle blantly manipulates circumferences so Vere has to marry Elle… Vere finally getting married 😂 In this time period, women are powerless… But to be manipulative… Two wrongs don’t make a right!

Wednesday: Chapters 9 – 12

Fell asleep sometime between chapters 10-11… I’ll have to reread them..

Chapter 10 exciting 😂 I find it hard to stomach them… Because of Elle’s manipulations… I know there’s a reason for it, but… Leaves a bad taste in my mouth…

Attention scattered in these chapters… Plot got more interesting as I went! Still against the manipulation that occurred…

But then we see the interaction between Elle and Uncle Edmund… Threatens and strikes fear into Elle… 

Feel like we see their relationship progress…Trying to understand Elle’s hesitancy with being allne with Vere..

Thursday: Chapters 13 – 17

I don’t know 🤷🏽‍♀️ if it’s my attention or the story… but I’m unfocused…

Would have had preferred them being in love 😍 before having sex… Vere keeps going back and forth from hate and admiration…

Dumbness… Perceived intelligence 🤔 Is Vere for real dumb or is he acting? Elle wonders…

Arrest of Uncle Edmund… satisfying, yet another manipulation… 🤔 Here we see how the story uses manipulation positively and negatively… But the story is slowly wrapping up!

Freddy and Anjelica story line… It was nice, light, and amusing 😂

Note: Still figuring out blogging 😂 might be in the wrong place… Spoilers may occur 😂

This book has provided insight in what I DON’T like… I really can’t stomach entrapment… It affects my enjoyment of the story and just leaves a bad taste in my mouth…

Friday: Chapters 18 – 22

I’m okay with an annulment…

Curious when Aunt Rachel found out about Edmund’s bwing an imposter 😨 A reveal I didn’t see coming…

Not super invested romance-wise… But definitely intrigued by the plot…

Uncle Edmond became crazy Villainous… The storyline was so much more than I anticipated… Birth reveal blew my mind…

Aunt Rachel lucid the whole time… Playing dumb vs being dumb is annother point of contemplation…

Story got a little bonkers but, in doing so, became more… So much happens in the last 3 chapters …Thank goodness I took notes 😂 Had to rewind a few times 😂

To feel invested in Freddy’s storyline, would have liked him more in the story…

So much has happened to them… Just glad to See them happy 😃👏🏽
